Thule Apex 9025

All new for 2012 is the Thule Apex line of hitch-mounted bike racks.  The Apex 4 Bike features road dampening cradles to absorb road shock which protects your bike during transport.  Integrated locking systems provide security by locking the bikes to the rack, and the rack to the hitch.  A new arc design of the bike arms allows more bikes to be loaded easier and provides better nesting between the bikes.  If you're looking to add a 4-Bike hitch rack to your vehicle, make sure the Apex 4 is on your short list

This rack comes mostly built, so it is pretty quick from box to bike. I don't need any tools to install it and it comes with a lock for all the bikes. Plus, it works with both 2" and 1.25" receivers, so I can make my friend drive once in awhile.

BUYING TIP: Double check your bike's frame style and make sure it will fit nicely over the rack arms. Newer bikes can have funky frames and can make loading the bikes tricky. If you have a funky frame you may want a frame adapter to make loading easier (~$29.00-$50.00).

INSTALLATION TIP: When inserting the lock core in the lock knob, make sure the metal teeth inside the lock knob are lined up to receive the lock. If they are not the lock face will not become flush with the lock knob housing. If it is not flush, the lock can come out. (Posted on 11/1/2016)
