Thule Rack-it Science
Are you looking for the perfect roof rack for your car? Do you want to attach bike racks, canoe & kayak racks, ski & snowboard racks, and cargo boxes to it? Well, look no further!
Just say TOO-LEE!!!!
The Thule name is synonymous
with car racks. A long time leader in the European market, Thule was
first introduced into the US in the early eighties by Ake Skeppner from
the back of his station wagon. Windsurfing racks were the first to be
introduced, with Ake traveling from one windsurfing competition to
another to show and sell Thuleís products!
With initial success in the
windsurfing industry, Ake began exhibiting the product lines at trade
shows and to individual retailers, and Thule ski racks
were next to be "discovered" in the US. As the sales of Thule
windsurfing and ski racks continued to grow, Ake realized that roof
racks were seen more as "lifestyle accessories" than as car accessories
in the US. He realized that Thule Swedenís next logical step would be
to design and manufacture products for the US in the US. At this point
Thule US was born and the rest is history!
