Instead of the basket sitting on top of the crossbars, it can be mounted to sit level with the crossbars. Other accessories, like ski racks, can be mounted right across the basket if necessary. Orient the basket to best fit your application. Q Tower applications can be tweaked forward or backward to achieve the same result, with the basket running longways across the vehicle.
