Yakima’s innovative, fold-down receiver hitch bike carrier tilts to the side, creating unobstructed access to the rear of your car, truck or suv.  This rack has all of the same features of the SwingDaddy 4, except that it tilts to the side at the base, instead of swinging away.

Compatible with 2418 HitchSki ski & snowboard carrier (sold separately) FIT/INSTALLATION TIPS: We have found this rack to be quite useful on many applications, including swing door applications, where typical fold-down racks can interfere with the rear door access.  This rack is also very useful with pickup truck applications for complete unobstructed access to the lowered tailgate. Keep in mind, that a portion of the mast, even when the rack is tilted down, will stick up 10.5" from the top of the racks tongue that is inserted into the hitch. All of the Hitch Racks have a nut inside the base of the rack that attaches them inside the hitch. Instead of a hitch pin, all of the Hitch racks use a threaded bolt to affix the rack to the hitch. This takes out any wobble in the rack when it’s loaded, making your precious cargo rock solid on the back of your car…and we all know, that 4 bikes on the back of the car could be worth more than the car itself. With all of the Yakima Bike racks, be prepared with some tools for installation.  Although this rack comes with a couple of wrenches, a 15/16" socket wrench will come in very handy attaching it to the car.
